INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

SAM's eyes open as 'Heat of the Moment' by Asia plays on the alarm clock. He sits up in bed and looks at the radio. DEAN looks over at him while he is tying his shoe while sitting on the neighboring bed.

DEAN
Rise and shine, Sammy!

SAM
Dude, Asia?

DEAN
Come on, you love this song and you know it!

SAM
Yeah, and if I ever hear it again, I'm gonna kill myself.

DEAN reaches over and cranks the volume up.

DEAN
What? I'm sorry, I can't hear you.

DEAN mouths the chorus of the song while he does a little dance, pointing at SAM. SAM laughs while DEAN gets up from the bed.

INT. BATHROOM - MORNING

DEAN is gargling while SAM puts toothpaste on his toothbrush. SAM eyes the tube of toothpaste that has toothpaste all over the top of it, and looks at DEAN. DEAN, while gargling, looks over at SAM and smiles at him.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

DEAN is walking around the room searching for something as SAM waits in the doorway for him.

SAM
Whenever you're ready, Dean.

DEAN rummages around in his bag and pulls out a black and purple lace bra and holds it up, looking at SAM.

DEAN
This yours?

SAM glares at him.

DEAN
Ha!

DEAN puts the bra down, and continues his search.

DEAN
Ah!

DEAN pulls out his handgun.

DEAN
Bingo.

DEAN tucks the gun into the back of his jeans and walks out past SAM.

DEAN
Now, who's ready for some breakfast?

SAM looks after him mildly annoyed.

INT. DINER - MORNING

DEAN and SAM walk in as the bell on the door dings, and the cashier (RANDY) is giving and older man (MR. PICKETT) his change.

RANDY
Drive safely now, Mr. Pickett.

MR. PICKETT
Yeah, yeah.

The camera watches as MR. PICKETT walks out, and SAM and DEAN walk in and they pass each other.

COOK
Order up!

As the camera follows SAM and DEAN walking to a booth it pans past the waitress (DORIS), who is talking to a homeless man sitting at the counter.

DORIS
Can't stay unless you order something, Cal, you know the rules.

CAL pushes some change across the counter at her and she takes it.

CAL
Some coffee.

DEAN and SAM sit down at a booth and DEAN looks up at the specials.

DEAN
Hey, Tuesday. Pig 'n a poke.

SAM
Do you even know what that is?

DEAN just looks at him, and doesn't answer as DORIS walks up.

DORIS
Are you boys ready?

DEAN
Yes, I'll have the special, side of bacon and a coffee.

SAM
Make it two coffee's and a short stack.

DORIS
You got it.

DEAN
I'm telling you Sam, this job is small fry. We should be spending our time hunting down Bela.

SAM
Okay, sure, let's get right on that, where is she again?

DEAN
Shut up.

SAM
Look, believe me, I wanna find her as bad as you do. In the meantime, we have this.

SAM pulls out a paper from his jacket pocket and puts it on the table. DEAN picks it up, and looks at it.

DEAN
Alright, so this professor...

SAM
Dexter Hasselback, he was passing through town last week when he vanished.

DEAN
Last known location?

SAM
His daughter says he was on his way to visit the Broward County Mystery Spot.

DEAN holds the pamphlet for the Mystery Spot in his hand and flips it over to read from it.

DEAN
Where the laws of physics have no meaning?

A bell dings, and DORIS comes over with a tray.

DORIS
Two coffees. Black-

DEAN
Thank you.

DORIS
And some hot sauce for the-

She leans over and the hot sauce falls off the tray, smashing on the ground and breaking.

DORIS
Oh! Whoops- crap.

She looks at the boys.

DORIS
Sorry.

She looks back to the kitchen.

DORIS
Clean up!

DEAN raises his eyebrows at SAM and takes a sip of his coffee.

EXT. STREET - DAY

A dog that is chained to a bike rack barks as SAM and DEAN walk by.

DEAN
Sam, you know joints like this are only tourist traps right? I mean, you know, balls rolling uphill, furniture nailed to the ceiling. The only danger is to your wallet.

SAM
Okay look, I'm just saying that there are spots in the world where holes open up and swallow people. The Bermuda Triangle, the Oregon Vortex-

DEAN
Broward County Mystery Spot?

SAM
Well sometimes these places are legit.

DEAN
Alright, so if it is legit, and that's a big as 'if', what's the lore?

SAM
Well, the-

A girl runs into DEAN's shoulder as she passes them, holding a stack of papers.

GIRL
Excuse me.

SAM
The lore's pretty frekin' nuts actually. They say in these places the magnetic fields are so strong that they can bend space-time, sending victims no one knows where.

DEAN
Sounds a little X-Files to me.

As they walk by a building, there are two guys arguing while trying to get a large desk through the normal sized door, and it is clearly not fitting.

1st GUY
I told you it wouldn't fit!

2nd GUY
What do you want a Pulitzer?

SAM
Alright look, I'm not saying this is really happening. But if it is, we gotta check it out, see if we can do something.

DEAN
All right all right, we'll go tonight after they close, get ourselves a nice long look.

INT. MYSTERY SPOT - NIGHT

DEAN and SAM come into the Mystery Spot door, SAM is holding an EMF reader while DEAN has his handgun in his right hand. When they walk all the way down the hall they entered, the come into a room, and DEAN shines a light on the ceiling, looking up at a table with an ashtray and lamp on it, nailed to the ceiling.

DEAN
Wow, uncanny.

SAM is scanning things with the EMF as they walk around the room.

DEAN
Find anything?

SAM
No.

DEAN
Do you have any idea what you're looking for?

SAM
Uh, yeah.

DEAN gives him a skeptical look.

SAM
No.

DEAN shakes his head and they start to look around again. They don't notice someone come up behind them (MR CARPIAK).

MR CARPIAK
What the hell are you doing here?

DEAN and SAM turn around to see a man with a shotgun and flashlight standing there, DEAN points his gun, but realizes it is a civilian and puts it up.

DEAN
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. We can explain.

MR CARPIAK
You robbing me?

SAM
Look, nobody's robbing you, calm down.

DEAN moves to put his gun away.

MR CARPIAK
Don't move, don't move!

DEAN
I'm just putting the gun down.

MR CARPIAK accidently shoots his gun and hits DEAN in the chest with the shot, throwing him backwards onto the floor.

SAM
Dean.

SAM rushes over to DEAN and grabs him.

SAM
Hey, hey.

SAM looks up at the man with tears in his eyes.

SAM
Call 911

MR. CAPRIAK
I- I didn't mean to-

SAM
Now!

SAM looks back down at DEAN.

SAM
Hey, hey. No, no, no.

DEAN is looking bad and struggling to breathe.

SAM
Not like this.

DEAN closes his eyes and stops moving.

SAM
Dean...

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

SAM's eyes open as 'Heat of the Moment' by Asia plays on the alarm clock. He sits up in bed and looks at the radio, and then at DEAN, looking freaked out. DEAN looks over at him while he is tying his shoe while sitting on the neighboring bed.

DEAN
Rise and shine, Sammy!

SAM doesn't say anything, just looks around freaked, DEAN indicates the song on the radio.

DEAN
Dude, Asia.

SAM
Dean.

DEAN
Oh, come on, you love this song and you know it!

DEAN reaches over and cranks the volume up. DEAN mouths the chorus of the song while he does a little dance, pointing at SAM. SAM looks around completely confused, while DEAN gets up from the bed.

INT. BATHROOM - MORNING

DEAN is gargling while SAM takes a drink of water and starts to rinse his mouth, looking at DEAN curiously. SAM spits out the water, and DEAN looks at SAM who is looking at DEAN strangely. DEAN spits out the mouthwash and turns to SAM.

DEAN
What?

SAM
I don't know.

DEAN
You all right?

SAM
No. I think I...man I had a weird dream.

DEAN
Yeah? Clowns or midgets?

SAM shakes his head.

INT. DINER - MORNING

DEAN and SAM walk in as the bell on the door dings, and RANDY is giving MR. PICKETT his change.

RANDY
Drive safely now, Mr. Pickett.

MR. PICKETT
Yeah, yeah.

The camera watches as MR. PICKETT walks out, and SAM and DEAN walk in and they pass each other.

CAL pushes some change across the counter at her and she takes it.

CAL
Coffee.

DEAN and SAM sit down at a booth and DEAN looks up at the specials.

DEAN
Hey, Tuesday. Pig 'n a poke.

SAM
It's Tuesday?

DEAN
Yeah.

DORIS walks up to their table.

DORIS
Are you boys ready?

DEAN
Yes, I'll have the special, side of bacon and a coffee.

SAM
Uh, nothing for me, thanks.

DORIS
Let me know if you change your mind.

She walks away to place their order.

DEAN
I'm telling you Sam, this job is small fry. We should be spending our time hunting down Bela.

SAM is looking very distracted.

DEAN
Hey!

DEAN snaps his fingers to get SAM's attention.

DEAN
You with me?

SAM
What?

DEAN
You sure you feel okay?

SAM
You don't...? You don't remember any of this?

DEAN
Remember what?

SAM
This. Today, like-like-like it's...happened before?

DEAN
You mean like déjà vu?

SAM
No, I mean, like it's- like it's really happened before.

DEAN
Yeah, like déjà vu.

SAM
No, forget about déjà vu. I'm asking you if it feels like we're living yesterday all over again?

DEAN
Okay, how is that not déjà-?

SAM cuts him off frustrated.

SAM
Don't! Don't say it, just don't-

DORIS comes over with a tray.

DORIS
Coffee, black- and some hot sauce for the-

She leans over and the hot sauce falls off the tray, but SAM catches it this time.

DORIS
Oops! Crap.

She turns and sees Sam has caught it and gasps.

DORIS
Thanks.

DEAN raises his eyebrows at her and she sets it down and walks away.

DEAN
Nice reflexes.

SAM just sits there breathing hard and looking upset and confused.

EXT. STREET - DAY

The dog that is chained to a bike rack barks as SAM and DEAN walk by. SAM looks at it as they pass.

DEAN
Sam, I'm sorry, but I don't know what the hell you're talking about.

SAM
Okay look, yesterday was Tuesday right? But today is Tuesday too.

DEAN
Yeah, no, good, you're totally balanced.

SAM
So, you don't believe me?

DEAN laughs a little as the same girl from before runs into DEAN's shoulder as she passes them, holding a stack of papers.

GIRL
Excuse me.

DEAN
Look, I'm just saying that it's crazy you know? Even for us crazy. Dingo-ate-my-baby crazy. Hey, maybe it was another one of your psychic premonitions.

SAM
No, no way. Way to vivid. Okay, look, we were at the Mystery Spot, and then-

DEAN
And then what?

SAM
Then I woke up.

As they walk by a building, there are the same two guys arguing while trying to get a large desk through the normal sized door, and it is clearly not fitting.

1st GUY
I told you it wouldn't fit!

2nd GUY
What do you want a Pulitzer?

SAM
Wait a minute! The Mystery Spot, you think maybe it-

DEAN
Maybe what?

SAM
We gotta check this place out.

DEAN looks at him sideways, not realizing anything about what SAM went through the previous day.

SAM
Look, just go with me on this okay?

DEAN
All right all right, we'll go tonight after they close, get ourselves a nice long look.

SAM stops at that statement remembering what happened the night before.

SAM
Wait- what? No.

DEAN
Why not?

SAM
Uh...let's just go now. Right now. Business hours, nice and crowded.

DEAN
My God, you're a freak.

SAM
Dean-

DEAN
Okay, whatever, we'll go now.

SAM sighs glad that DEAN agreed and DEAN turns and walks into the street, and SAM follows a step behind. A car hits DEAN and SAM ducks as the driver squeals to a stop.

SAM
Dean!

SAM runs over to a very bloody DEAN lying on the street.

SAM
Dean, no, no, no, no. Come on Dean.

SAM turns DEAN over and looks up at the driver. It is MR. PICKETT, who leans out the window and looks back. SAM turns back to look down at DEAN, but he isn't moving.

SAM
Hey, Dean. Dean. Dean.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

SAM's eyes open as 'Heat of the Moment' by Asia plays on the alarm clock. He sits up in bed looking freaked out and breathing hard. DEAN looks over at him while he is tying his shoe while sitting on the neighboring bed.

DEAN
Rise and shine, Sammy!

SAM just looks scared and freaked as he sits there.

INT. BATHROOM - MORNING

DEAN is gargling while SAM watches from the doorway, completely in shock.

INT. DINER - MORNING

DEAN and SAM are sitting in a booth and DEAN looks up at the specials.

DEAN
Hey, Tuesday. Pig 'n a poke.

SAM is looking very on edge now.

SAM
Would you listen to me, Dean? Because I am flipping out.

DORIS walks up to their table.

DORIS
Are you boys ready?

SAM
He'll take the special, side of bacon, coffee black and nothing for me thanks.

DORIS
You got it.

She walks away to place their order.

DEAN
Sammy I get all tingly when you take control like that.

SAM is looking very distressed.

SAM
Quit screwing around Dean.

DEAN
Okay, okay, I'm listening. So, so- and you think that you're in some kind of what is it-?

SAM
Time loop.

DEAN
Like Groundhog Day?

SAM
Yes, exactly, like Groundhog Day.

DEAN
Uh huh-

DEAN is smiling, obviously amused at the thought, and SAM is still looking very upset.

SAM
So, you don't believe me?

DEAN laughs a little.

DEAN
It's just a little crazy I mean, even for us crazy. You know, like uh-

SAM
Dingo-ate-my-baby crazy?

DEAN
How'd you know I was gonna say that?

SAM
Because you said it before, Dean. That's my whole point.

The bell dings and DORIS comes over with a tray.

SAM
No, I knew it was gonna happen.

DEAN
Okay, look. I'm sure that there's some sort of an explanation-

SAM
You're just gonna have to go with me on this alright Dean? You just have to, you owe me that much!

DEAN
Calm down-

SAM
Don't tell me to calm down, I can't calm down. I can't because-

DEAN
Because what?

SAM
Because you die today, Dean.

DEAN looks at him doubting what he has said.

DEAN
I'm not gonna die. Not today.

SAM
Twice now, I've watched you die, and I can't. I won't do it again okay? You're just gonna have to believe me. Please.

DEAN sees how serious SAM is, and nods a little.

DEAN
All right, I still think you're nuts, but- okay, whatever this is, we'll figure it out.

EXT. STREET - DAY

The dog that is chained to a bike rack barks as SAM and DEAN walk by. The same girl from before runs into DEAN's shoulder as she passes them, holding a stack of papers.

GIRL
Excuse me.

As they walk by a building, there are the same two guys arguing while trying to get a large desk through the normal sized door, and it is clearly not fitting.

1st GUY
I told you it wouldn't fit!

2nd GUY
What do you want a Pulitzer?

DEAN
You think this cheesy ass tourist trap has something to do with it?

SAM
Maybe it's the real deal, you know. The magnetic fields bending space-time, or whatever.

DEAN
I don't know, it all seems a little too X-files for me.

SAM
Well, I don't know how else to explain it Dean.

DEAN
All right all right, we'll go tonight after they close, get ourselves a nice long look.

SAM stops DEAN at that familiar statement.

SAM
No, no, no, no. We can't.

DEAN
Why not?

SAM
Because you-

DEAN
I what?

SAM makes a head motion and eyes DEAN, signifying what happened there before.

DEAN
I die there?

SAM
Blown away actually.

DEAN looks thoughtful.

DEAN
Huh. Okay, let's go now.

DEAN starts to walk into the street and SAM remembers the car accident from the day before running and grabbing DEAN, pulling him back just in time, as the car blows past.

MR. PICKETT
Get out of the way!

DEAN laughs and looks at SAM who is not amused in the slightest.

DEAN
What, did he...?

SAM
Yesterday, yeah.

DEAN
And?

SAM
And what?

DEAN
Did it look cool like in the movies?

SAM
You peed yourself.

DEAN
Of course I peed myself. A man gets hit by a car, you think he has full control over his bladder? Come on!

DEAN turns around to head back across the street, looking both ways and nodding his head as he starts out, SAM following close behind him.

INT. MYSTERY SPOT - DAY

SAM and DEAN are standing in front of MR. CARPIAK.

MR. CARPIAK
Boys, I can't tell you how much I appreciate this. We could use all the good ink we can get.

SAM
How long have you owned the place Mr. Carpiak.

MR. CARPIAK
Well, my family's been guarding the secrets here since you don't wanna know when.

SAM
So you'd know if anything strange happened?

MR. CARPIAK
Strange? Strange happens here all the time. It's a mystery spot.

MR. CARPIAK laughs, trying to sell the whole 'mystery spot' thing to them.

SAM
What exactly does that mean?

MR. CARPIAK
Well, uh...it's where the laws of physics have no meaning.

SAM
Okay, like how?

MR. CARPIAK
Take the tour.

DEAN
The guy who went missing, Dexter Hasselback, he take the tour?

MR. CARPIAK
Uh-hold on a minute, what kind of article is this?

SAM
Just answer the question.

MR. CARPIAK
The police scoured every inch of this place, they couldn't find that man. I never seen him before. We're a family establishment.

SAM is fed up with the run around, and leans in closer to MR. CARPIAK.

SAM
Listen to me, there's something weird going on here. Now, do you know anything about it or not?

MR. CARPIAK
Okay, look. Guys, um, give me a break. I bought the joint at a foreclosure auction last March, all right? Hell, I used to sell bail bonds.

SAM continues to glare at him, and DEAN notices.

DEAN
Okay, Kojak, let's get some air.

EXT. STREET - NIGHT

DEAN and SAM are walking along the sidewalk, SAM is looking around nervously.

DEAN
Well, I hate to say it, but that place is exactly what I thought. It's full of crap.

SAM
So what is it then Dean?! What the hell is happening to us?

DEAN
I don't know. All right, let me just- So, every day I die?

SAM
Yeah.

DEAN
That's when you wake up again, right?

SAM
Yeah.

DEAN
So, let's just make sure I don't die. If I make it to tomorrow, maybe the loop stops and we can figure all this out.

SAM
Do you think?

DEAN
It's worth a shot. I say we grab some takeout, head back to the motel, lay low until midnight.

SAM nods his head in agreement.

DEAN
All right, good. Who wants Chinese?

DEAN turns and takes a step and a desk falls on him, instantly crushing and killing him. SAM looks horrified, and the two guys that were arguing about the desk look over. One is in the window a story up, and one is holding the edge of the rope, the other edge frayed and broken off. They were trying to hoist it up, and the rope broke. SAM just stands there in shock.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

SAM's eyes open as Heat of the Moment by Asia plays on the alarm clock. He sits up in bed looking freaked out and breathing hard. DEAN looks over at him while he is tying his shoe while sitting on the neighboring bed.

DEAN
Rise and shine, Sammy!

SAM just looks scared and lays back down on the pillow.

INT. DINER - MORNING

DEAN and SAM are sitting in the booth, SAM is looking very tired and worn down.

DEAN
I still think you're nuts, but, you know, whatever this is, we'll figure it out.

SAM
Thanks.

DEAN
So, if you're stuck in Groundhog Day, why? What's behind it?

SAM
Well, at first I thought it was the Mystery Spot, now I'm not so sure.

DEAN
What do we do?

SAM
Well, we keep you breathing, try to make it to tomorrow. I mean, that's the only thing I can think of.

DEAN
Shouldn't be too hard.

SAM scoffs.

SAM
Yeah, right. Dean I've watched you die a few times now, and I can't ever seem to stop it.

DEAN
Well, nothing's set in stone.

SAM rolls his eyes at DEAN.

DEAN
You say I order the same thing every day right?

SAM
Yeah, pig 'n a poke, side of bacon.

DEAN looks over to DORIS.

DEAN
Excuse me, sweetheart.

She turns around.

DEAN
Can I get sausage instead of bacon?

DORIS
Sure thing, hon.

DEAN
See? Different day already.

SAM nods a bit.

DEAN
Cause see, if you and I decide that I am not gonna die...I'm not gonna die.

DORIS brings over DEAN's food, and sets it down in front of him.

DEAN
Thank you.

DEAN picks up the fork, and takes a sausage off the plate, and takes a bite looking triumphantly at SAM, and SAM laughs at him. A second later DEAN begins to choke.

SAM
Dean. Dean?

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

SAM's eyes open as 'Heat of the Moment' by Asia plays on the alarm clock. He sits up in bed looking upset.

INT. BATHROOM - MORNING

DEAN pokes his head out of the shower, his head covered in soap and yells at SAM.

DEAN
You mean we can't even go out for breakfast?

SAM is in the other room, and yells back at him.

SAM
You'll thank me when it's Wednesday.

DEAN
Whatever that means.

DEAN screams and we hear a crash, as he slips in the shower. SAM looks over his shoulder toward the bathroom, eyes wide.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

SAM's eyes open as Heat of the Moment by Asia plays on the alarm clock. He sits up quickly.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - DAY

DEAN and SAM are eating food.

DEAN
Do these taco's taste funny to you?

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

SAM's eyes open as Heat of the Moment by Asia plays on the alarm clock. He sits up in bed.

INT. BATHROOM - MORNING

DEAN plugs his razor into the electrical socket, and it electrocutes him as it smokes and he convulses.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

SAM's eyes open as Heat of the Moment by Asia plays on the alarm clock. He sits up.

INT. MYSTERY SPOT - NIGHT

We hear banging, and then we see SAM is taking an axe to the building, tearing it down. DEAN is kneeling down next to MR. COPIAK who is duct taped to a chair with his mouth duct taped closed.

DEAN
Everybody's fine. Nobody's gonna get hurt, okay?

DEAN looks up to where SAM is.

DEAN
Sammy?

SAM stops chopping and turns around to look at DEAN, but SAM has a crazy look in his eye.

DEAN
You should drop the axe and let this guy go, what do you say?

SAM
Something's gotta be going on here. I intend to find out what.

DEAN
Place is tore up pretty good, dude. Time to give it a rest.

SAM
No! I'm gonna take it down to studs.

SAM continues to chop at the building.

DEAN
Sammy, that's enough.

DEAN gets up and goes over to SAM, but the camera stays on MR. COPIAK, who is watching scared.

DEAN
Give me the axe.

SAM
Leave it Dean.

DEAN
Give it!

SAM
No, you give it!

DEAN
Let-

SAM
No, Dean, no!

DEAN
Let it go!

SAM
Dean-

DEAN
Come on-

SAM
Dean, leave it-

We hear a slice and blood sprays MR. COPIAK's face, and he starts to scream. We hear a thud.

SAM
Dean? Oh, no...

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

SAM's eyes open as Heat of the Moment by Asia plays on the alarm clock. He sits up in bed looking upset.

COOK

CAL
Coffee.

DEAN and SAM sit down at a booth and DEAN looks up at the specials.

DEAN
Hey, Tuesday. Pig 'n a poke.

SAM looks disinterested and pulls keys out of his pocket and puts them on the table.

DEAN
What are those?

SAM
The old man's.

DEAN looks out the window after him.

SAM
Trust me, you don't want him behind the wheel.

DORIS
Are you boys ready?

DEAN
Yes, we are, uh, I'll have the special, side of bacon and a coffee.

SAM
Hey, Doris. What I'd like is for you to log in some more hours at the archery range. You're a terrible shot.

DORIS
How do you know that?

SAM
Lucky guess.

DEAN
Okay, so you think you're caught in some kind of what again?

SAM
Time loop.

DEAN
Like Groundhog Day.

SAM
It doesn't matter, there's no way to stop it.

DEAN
Jeez, aren't you grumpy?

SAM
Yeah, I am, you wanna know why?

DEAN
Why?

SAM
Because this is the hundredth Tuesday in a row I've been through, and it never stops. Ever, so yeah, I'm a little grumpy.

DEAN looks confused.

SAM
Hot sauce.

DEAN raises his eyebrows in question and a bell dings.

DEAN
What?

DORIS comes over with a tray.

DORIS
Coffee black-

She sets down a cup in front of DEAN.

DORIS
And some hot sauce for the-

She leans over and the hot sauce falls off the tray but, of course, SAM grabs it, not even looking at it this time and sets it on the table so quickly, she doesn't even get her reaction out before he has snatched it.

DORIS
Oh! Whoops- crap. Thanks...

DEAN
Nice reflexes-

SAM
I knew it was gonna happen Dean. I know everything that's gonna happen.

DEAN
You don't know everything.

SAM
Yeah, I do.

This is where SAM says exactly what DEAN is going to say, when he says it.

SAM and DEAN
Yeah right. Nice guess.

SAM
It wasn't a guess.

SAM and DEAN
Right, you're a mind reader. Cut it out Sam, Sam! You think you're being funny but you're being really, really childish. Sam Winchester wears makeup. Sam Winchester cries his way through sex. Sam Winchester keeps a ruler by the bed and every morning when he wakes up he- Okay, enough!

SAM
That's not all. Randy, the cashier? He's skimming from the register. Judge Meyers? At night he puts on a furry bunny outfit.

Judge Meyers hears him, and drops the drink he has in his hand, SAM continues as DEAN continues to look confused.

SAM
Over there, that's Cal. He's gonna rob Tony the Mechanic on the way home.

DEAN
What's your point?

SAM
My point is, I've lived through every possible Tuesday, I've watched you die every possible way. I have ripped apart the Mystery Spot, burnt it down, tried everything I know to save your life, and I can't. No matter what I do, you die. And then I wake up, and then it's Tuesday again.

EXT. STREET - DAY

SAM
The dog.

The dog that is chained to a bike rack barks as SAM and DEAN walk by, DEAN watching it.

DEAN
There's gotta be some way outta this.

SAM
Where's my dang keys?

They walk past MR. PICKETT who is searching his pockets.

MR. PICKETT
Where's my dang keys?

SAM
Excuse me.

The same girl runs into DEAN's shoulder as she passes them, holding a stack of papers.

GIRL
Excuse me.

DEAN
She's kinda cute.

DEAN stops SAM.

DEAN
Hey, all the times we've walked down this street, did I ever do this?

DEAN turns around and goes back to the girl that bumped into him.

DEAN
Excuse me, miss?

SAM
No...

DEAN takes one of the papers that she has a stack of and walks back over to SAM.

DEAN
Hundred Tuesdays, you never bothered to check what she was holding in her hands?

SAM shrugs no, like he would have never thought of it. DEAN holds up that paper.

DEAN
This the guy who went missing?

SAM looks at the picture, and it is Dexter Hasselback.

SAM
Yeah.

DEAN
That's his daughter back there.

SAM grabs the flyer and runs after her.

SAM
Ma'am? Uh, miss?

The dog growls and barks, and DEAN looks at it.

DEAN
Hey, buddy. Somebody need a friend?

DEAN walks over to the dog.

DEAN
Good boy-aahh!

We hear the dog snarl.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

SAM's eyes open as Heat of the Moment by Asia plays on the alarm clock.

INT. DINER - MORNING

SAM is on his laptop, while DEAN is eating.

SAM
So, the police says Dexter Hasselback is a professor, but that's not all he is.

DEAN
What is he?

SAM
I talked to his daughter, the guy's quite the journalist. Column's in magazines, a blog.

The camera follows a customer that is sitting at the counter (ED) as he gets up and goes over to the cash register before it focuses back on the brothers.

He writes about tourist attractions: mystery spots, UFO crash sites. Gets his kicks debunking them. I mean, he's already put four of these places out of business. Here-

SAM turns the computer around so DEAN can see.

DEAN (reads)
'Dexter Hasselback: Truth Warrior'? More like a pompous schmuck if you ask me.

SAM
Yeah, tell me about it. I mean, I've read everything the guy's ever written. He must have weighed a ton, he was so full of himself.

DEAN
When did you have time to do all this research?

SAM
Come on.

SAM puts his laptop away and when they get up, DEAN is chuckling.

SAM
What?

DEAN
It's- it's just, it's funny you know? I mean, this guy spends his whole life crapping on Mystery Spots, and then he vanishes in one. It's kinda poetic you know? Like uh- just desserts.

SAM
You're right, it is just desserts.

SAM looks over to the counter and sees strawberry syrup on the plate that ED left behind. DEAN is making his was up to the cashier, but he stops noticing SAM isn't with him, and turns around walking back over to where SAM is standing.

DEAN
What's wrong?

SAM looks out the window and watches ED walk away.

SAM
Guy has maple syrup for the past hundred Tuesday's, all of a sudden he's having strawberry?

DEAN
It's a free country. Man can't chose his own syrup huh? What have we become?

SAM
Not in this diner. Not today. Nothing in this place ever changes. Ever. Except me.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

SAM's eyes open as Heat of the Moment by Asia plays on the alarm clock. This time, he sits up, with a determined look in his eyes.

DEAN
Rise and shine, Sammy!

INT. DINER - DAY

The camera pans up from the maple syrup in front of ED on the counter. SAM is watching him intently from the booth.

DEAN
So you think you're caught in some kind of what again?

SAM
Eat your breakfast.

ED gets up and leaves, and SAM pulls a bag out and gets up to follow him.

DEAN
What's in the bag?

DEAN sees SAM leave, so he gets up, drops money on the table, and follows him.

EXT. STREET - DAY

Out on the street, ED is walking away with a toothpick in his mouth, and SAM comes up from behind him and grabs him slamming him up against a gate.

ED
Hey! Hey.

SAM holds a blood covered stake up to ED's neck as DEAN catches up with them.

SAM
I know who you are, or should I say what?

ED
Oh, God, please don't kill me.

DEAN
Sam?

SAM
It took me a hell of a long time, but I got it.

ED
What?

SAM
It's your M.O. that gave you away, going after pompous jerks, giving them their just desserts. Your kind loves that don't they?

ED
Yeah, sure, okay. Just put the stake down.

DEAN
Sam, maybe you should-

SAM
No! There's only one creature powerful enough to do what you're doing. Making reality out of nothing, sticking people in time loops! In fact you'd pretty much have to be a god. Or you'd have to be a trickster.

ED
Mister, my name is Ed Coleman, my wife's name's Amelia, I got two kids. For crying out loud I sell ad space.

SAM
Don't lie to me! I know what you are, we've killed one of your kind before!

ED changes into the TRICKSTER from 'Tall Tales'. SAM and DEAN both look surprised.

TRICKSTER
Actually bucko, you didn't.

SAM
Why are you doing this?

TRICKSTER
You're joking right? You chuckleheads tried to kill me last time. Why wouldn't I do this?

DEAN
And Hasselback, what about him?

TRICKSTER
That putz? He said he didn't believe in wormholes, so I dropped him in one. Ha ha ha! Huh? Then you guys showed up. I made you the second you hit town.

SAM is barely containing his anger.

SAM
So this is fun for you? Killing Dean over and over again?

TRICKSTER
One: Yes, it is fun. And two: this is so not about killing Dean. This joke, is on you Sam. Watching your brother die every day. Forever.

SAM
You son of a bitch.

TRICKSTER
How long will it take you to realize, you can't save your brother no matter what?

SAM
Oh, yeah? I kill you this all ends now.

SAM starts to push the stake against the TRICKSTER's neck.

TRICKSTER
Uh- oh, hey- whoa. Okay, okay, look. I was just playing around. You can't take a joke? Fine, you're out of it. Tomorrow, you wake up, it'll be Wednesday, I swear.

SAM
You're lying.

TRICKSTER
If I am, you know where to find me. Having pancakes at the diner.

SAM considers it for a moment.

SAM
No, easier to just kill you.

TRICKSTER
Sorry, kiddo, can't have that.

The TRICKSTER snaps his fingers.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

SAM's eyes open with Back in Time by Huey Lewis and the News playing on the alarm clock. He sits up, his eyes wide. DEAN leans out from the bathroom, and looks at SAM.

DEAN
Were you gonna sleep all day?

SAM
No Asia.

DEAN
Yeah, I know, this station sucks.

SAM looks at the clock that has the date set as 'WED' and gasps.

SAM
It's Wednesday!

SAM grins up at DEAN.

DEAN
Yeah, which usually comes after Tuesday. Turn that thing off would you?

SAM throws his covers off and scoots down to the bottom of the bed, looking as excited as a kid on Christmas morning (very excited and happy).

SAM
What are you kidding? This isn't the most beautiful song you've ever heard?

DEAN
No, jeez, how many Tuesdays did you have?

SAM is putting on his shirt, in a hurry.

SAM
I don't know, I lost count. Hey wait, what do you remember?

DEAN
I remember you were pretty wacked out of it yesterday, and then I remember running into the trickster. But, no, that's about it.

SAM
All right, pack your stuff let's get the hell out of town, now.

DEAN
No breakfast?

SAM
No breakfast.

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY

DEAN is going through the trunk weapon's cash. After he puts a few weapons in it, he lifts the duffel out of it, and shuts it, putting the duffel in the trunk. Someone walks up behind DEAN.

DEAN
Are you sure we should just let the trickster go?

DEAN turns around and sees CAL holding a gun on him.

CAL
Give me your wallet.

DEAN
Whoa, whoa, whoa buddy, just relax.

CAL
I am relaxed!

DEAN
Okay, all right, nobody wants this to end the wrong way, let's talk about it a sec.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - DAY

SAM is packing the last of his stuff when he hears a gunshot, and SAM stops, bringing his head around with a scared look on his face.

SAM
Dean!

EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY

CAL runs off around the corner as SAM comes down the stairs and finds DEAN lying in the parking lot bleeding from a gunshot wound, not moving. SAM runs over and kneels next to DEAN.

SAM
No, no, no, no. Hey, hey. Come on. Not today, not today, this isn't supposed to happen today. Come on.

SAM shuts his eyes in vain, wanting to wake up, and have DEAN alive again. He opens his eyes and nothing has changed.

SAM
I'm supposed to wake up.

SAM starts to cry and hugs DEAN tight to him.

EXT. ROAD - NIGHT

SUBTITLE
Six Months Later

The IMPALA zooms by and we see SAM through the windshield at the wheel.

SAM (on recording)
It's Sam. Leave me a message.

As BOBBY leaves the message, we see a montage of SAM hunting. Some look like 'memories' from when he hunted before (you can tell by hairstyle and such) and some are supposed to be him hunting on his own now that DEAN is gone. SAM drives with his jaw clenched and staring straight ahead throughout the whole thing.

BOBBY (on phone)
Sam, it's Bobby, heard about that demon that you took care of in Death Valley. Nice job. It's been about three months we talked though. It'd be nice to hear your voice. Give a call, I'm here.

EXT. PARKING LOT - NIGHT

SAM opens the trunk of the IMPALA, and leans down to pull out a shotgun. It is not as messy as DEAN kept, it. The weapon's cash is a case, with a place for every weapon, much like the one that JOHN had in the back of his truck. SAM pulls out a shotgun.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - NIGHT

SAM comes into his hotel room, and takes off his jacket wincing, but gritting his teeth as we see the left side of his shirt is covered in blood. He cuts the shirt open, and we see blood pouring out of a bullet wound in his left abdomen, right below his chest. He pours antiseptic on it, and uses tongs to dig out the bullet. He then sews it closed with a needle and thread.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - NIGHT

SAM is sitting at the table in his motel room, with food in front of him on a tray, he eats silently, just shoving the food in his mouth and you can tell he is just eating as a necessity. The message tone beeps and we hear BOBBY's voice again.

BOBBY (on phone)
Sam? Bobby again. Look, I'm worried about you.

SAM is now sitting at the foot of the bed staring at a wall above the headboard of the bed, cleaning his gun. The wall has very neatly sectioned information and pictures of the trickster. It looks like the way his father set up research, very organized and clean.

BOBBY (on phone)
Just tell me you're not sitting alone somewhere obsessing over this damn trickster. Call me Sam, we can find it together. No one man should take something like this on alone. Do you hear me? By the way, that vampire nest in Austin, hell of a job.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

SAM's eyes open, and he immediately sits up in the bed that looks like he hasn't moved in all night. The covers are only laid over him, and the pillows are not moved. He gets up and makes the bed, and goes to the bathroom. He brushes his teeth, and rinses his mouth out, and when he straightens back up from leaning over the sink, we hear another message from BOBBY.

BOBBY (on phone)
Sam? It's Bobby. I found him.

INT. MYSTERY SPOT - NIGHT

BOBBY has drawn something on the floor in chalk, and is preparing whatever he has planned when SAM walks in the room, looking stoic. BOBBY gets up and turns to greet him.

BOBBY
It's good to see you boy.

BOBBY walks over and hugs him, SAM doesn't move an inch, and gives no reaction.

SAM
What are we doing here Bobby?

BOBBY
This is the last place we're sure the trickster worked him magic.

SAM
So?

BOBBY
So, you want this thing? I found a summoning ritual, to bring the trickster here.

BOBBY crosses back over to where he was setting up, and SAM makes his way slowly around the room.

SAM
What do you need?

BOBBY
Blood.

SAM
How much blood?

BOBBY
Ritual says near a gallon, and it's gotta be fresh too.

SAM
Meaning we have to bleed a person dry.

BOBBY
And it's gotta be tonight, or not for another 50 years.

SAM
Then let's go get some.

SAM turns to leave, but BOBBY doesn't move, and SAM stops.

BOBBY
You break my heart kid.

SAM
What?

BOBBY
I'm not gonna let you murder an innocent man.

SAM looks irritated.

SAM
Then why'd you bring me here?

BOBBY
Why? Because it's the only way you'd see me. Because I'm trying to knock some sense into you. Because I thought you'd back down from killing a man.

SAM
Well, you thought wrong. Leave the stuff I'll do it myself.

BOBBY
I told you, I'm not gonna let you kill anyone.

SAM snaps and yells at BOBBY.

SAM
It's none of your damn business what I do!

BOBBY
You want your brother back so bad...

BOBBY leans down and gets a knife out of the bag he brought and stands back up.

BOBBY
...fine.

SAM
What are you talking about?

BOBBY
Better me than a civilian.

BOBBY hands SAM the knife.

SAM
You're crazy Bobby, I'm not killing you.

BOBBY
Oh, now I'm the crazy one. Look, Sam. I'm old, I'm coming near the end of my trail. But you can keep fighting, saving folks; but you need your brother. So, let me give him back to you.

SAM
Bobby-

BOBBY
You and Dean, you- you boys are the closest thing I have to family. I wanna do this.

SAM finally takes the knife from him.

SAM
Okay.

BOBBY
Good.

BOBBY turns around and kneels down in front of the ritual drawing.

BOBBY
Just make it quick.

SAM pauses.

BOBBY
Do it, son.

SAM
Yeah, okay, Bobby.

SAM pulls a wooden stake out of his jacket that has the tip covered in blood.

SAM
But you wanna know why?

SAM kneels down behind BOBBY and stabs him in the back, shoving it so hard, it comes through the front.

SAM
Because you're not Bobby.

BOBBY grunts and gasps falling forward, and SAM stands up glaring down. Nothing happens.

SAM
Bobby? Bobby.

SAM gets more upset and he starts to panic.

SAM
Bobby!

Then BOBBY's body shimmers and disappears, and the stake falls to the floor. The stake starts to shake and flies across the room behind SAM and the TRICKSTER catches it. SAM turns around, not looking surprised to see him.

TRICKSTER
You're right I was just screwing with you. Pretty good though Sam, smart. Let me tell you, whoever said Dean was the dysfunctional one has never seen you with a sharp object in your hand. Ho-ho-holy Full Metal Jacket.

SAM
Bring him back.

TRICKSTER
Who Dean? Didn't my girl send you the flowers? Dean's dead, he ain't coming back. His soul's downstairs doing the hellfire rumba as we speak.

SAM
Just take us back to that Tuesday- or Wednesday, when it all started please. We won't come after you I swear.

TRICKSTER
You swear?

SAM
Yes!

TRICKSTER
I don't know, even if I could...

SAM
You can!

TRICKSTER
True, but that don't mean I should. Sam, there's a lesson here I've been trying to drill into that freakish Cro-Magnon skull of yours.

SAM
A lesson? What lesson?

The TRICKSTER comes up close to SAM to try and reason with him.

TRICKSTER
This obsession to save Dean, the way you two keep sacrificing yourselves for each other? Nothing good comes out of it, just blood and pain. Dean's your weakness. The bad guys know it too. He's gonna be the death of you Sam. Sometimes you just gotta let people go...

SAM
He's my brother.

TRICKSTER
Yup, and like it or not, this is what life's gonna be like without him.

SAM
Please, just...please.

SAM is on the verge of tears, looking at the TRICKSTER pleading with him. The TRICKSTER scoffs and hangs his head, giving up.

TRICKSTER
I swear, it's like talking to a brick wall. Okay, look, this all stopped being fun months ago. You're Travis Bickle in a skirt pal, I'm over it.

SAM
Meaning what?

TRICKSTER
Meaning that's for me to know, and you to find out.

The TRICKSTER brings his hand up and snaps his fingers.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - MORNING

SAM's eyes open with 'Back in Time' by Huey Lewis and the News playing on the alarm clock. He sits up, his eyes wide. DEAN leans out from the bathroom, and look at SAM.

DEAN
Were you gonna sleep all day? I know, no Asia, this station sucks.

SAM looks at the clock that has the date set as 'WED' and when he looks back up at DEAN his eyes are shining with tears.

SAM
It's Wednesday.

DEAN
Yeah, which usually follows Tuesday. Turn that thing off.

SAM throws his covers off and crosses the room to DEAN, hugging his tightly.

DEAN
Dude, how many Tuesdays did you have?

SAM
Enough, wait.

SAM releases the hug, and looks DEAN in the face, worried about where he may have been all this time.

DEAN
I remember you were pretty wacked out yesterday. I remember catching up with the trickster. That's about it.

SAM
Let's go.

DEAN
No breakfast?

SAM
No breakfast.

DEAN
All right, I'll go pack the car.

SAM
Wait, you're not going anywhere alone.

DEAN
It's the parking lot Sam.

SAM
Just- just trust me.

INT. MOTEL ROOM - DAY

As SAM zips up his bag and DEAN opens the door to their room, DEAN looks back at SAM.

DEAN
Hey, you don't look so good, something else happen?

SAM
I just had a really weird dream.

DEAN
Clowns or midgets?

SAM looks over at DEAN who is smiling at him, and SAM smiles back weakly. DEAN leaves and SAM crosses the room to leave as well. He stops and takes another long look at the room, and turns off the lights and shuts the door behind him.
