1 May, 2012: The return of pretty as a picture
Today marks a historic day in the fanart communityYes, we're back! It's really good to be back up and running again after such a long time of hiatus and darkness. The servermove was a much bigger hassle than expected and then life had a tendency to also get in the way so in the end, my entire domain ended up on the back-burner and then darkness took over. It was sad to see it all go down in flames but now it's time to once more become your favorite resource for high quality pictures and step out into the light again! Eeerr, yeah, we like analogies over here *lol* ;)
1) PAAP is back online
2) Screencap Paradise is closing
3) PAAP and SP is now one and the same
THE MERGER
The big difference this time around is that Pretty as a Picture is merging with the highly acclaimed and popular screencap site "Screencap Paradise". It has been a partnersite of PAAP for many years and as they are closing their doors for good today, their content is moving over here. I just couldn't stand by and watch it all go into the oblivion and only become a legend among the fans online. SP will forever live on through PAAP. A big thanks goes out to SP's owners and creators, Line and Rosely. I hope that PAAP will live up to their continued expectations.
NEW SYSTEM
What is also new is that we have a completely new system for the gallery. We're leaving Coppermine Gallery behind and moving on to Gallery2. It is a much more stable application and a lot less vunerable to hacker-attacks. It has been a bumpy transition but I'm beginning to get the hang of things and the gallery is slowly becoming what it once was, perhaps even better. The other thing that's new as well is that you now get an official front-page. PAAP hasn't had that in the past but I've felt the need for one for a few years now, just to bring you news and then add surrounding information in a much better manner. Of course you will find the gallery via the menu to your left, I've listed the different categories to make browsing a bit easier for you. As you move around in the gallery you can always click the header, it will lead you right back here to the front page.
I hope that you will like both of these new changes and the overall new structure of the site.
LACKING CONTENT
As you can also guess is that the gallery is far from as complete as it once was. Don't worry, we're getting there but considering that I have tens of thousands of pictures to add it's going to take some time. Priority number one right now lies among the screencaps, after that I'm moving on to the other categories. Don't fret, it's all coming back! :)
xoxo
